About the Company

GOLC Shoe Company

Established 2003

GOLC Shoe Company was started in 2003 by Harlan Whitley after a 30 year career with a major shoe company.  The name GOLC is Clog spelled backwards. The first products developed were clogs and as the market needs changed new Brands were developed.

Mariana by GOLC was named for Harlan’s wife (Mary Frances) and the name of the lead factory…Ana. The styling matches the season’s colors and fashion silhouettes.

Mariana by GOLC Vintage’s styling is influenced from the 1940’s. Most styles feature a Composition and rubber flex sole with padding in the insole.

All of the shoes are Made in Brazil with vegetable tanned leathers.  In the tanning process Tree Bark Extract (from the Mimosa tree) is used to replace the protein in the leather. This process is “ECO Friendly” and yields soft leather that will mold to the bone structure of the foot. The dies in the coloring are also Eco Friendly. There is very little finish on the top of the leather so the true character of the hide can be seen.

The sizing is a simple conversion of euro 36 equals a US 6, 37 = 7, 38=8, etc.

The company is located in Franklin, Tennessee with the distribution center in Nashville, Tennessee.
